Prompt Lexicon is a community prompting guide for game developers and digital artists on Sorceress. Use it to browse real prompts, see the images or videos they produced, copy prompt text, and share your own examples with optional model labels and notes.
What it does
Prompt Lexicon is a searchable gallery of community-submitted AI art prompts. Each entry can include:
- The exact prompt used
- One or more image or video results
- An optional image model label
- An optional video model label
- Optional notes, tips, settings, or commentary from the creator
- The contributor’s display name and approximate time shared
The tool is designed as a practical reference. Browse prompts that worked, study the outputs, copy wording you want to reuse, and contribute your own successful prompts back to the community.
Requirements
You must be signed in to use Prompt Lexicon. If you are not signed in, the page shows a Prompt Lexicon sign-in screen before you can browse or share entries.
To share a prompt, you must provide both:
- A prompt in Prompt Used
- At least one image or video file
Model labels and notes are optional.
Your contributor name is filled in automatically from your Sorceress account profile. If no display name is available, the tool uses the first part of your account email; otherwise it may appear as anonymous.
Typical workflow
- Open Prompt Lexicon and sign in if prompted.
- Browse the gallery or search for a subject, style, technique, or model name.
- Click an entry to inspect the full prompt, notes, and media.
- Copy the prompt or notes if you want to reuse part of the approach.
- When you have a result worth sharing, click Share a Prompt.
- Add the exact prompt, optional model labels, optional notes, and at least one image or video.
- Submit it with Share with Community.
Browsing the gallery
When you open Prompt Lexicon, entries appear in a responsive gallery grid. Each card shows the first attached media item as a square thumbnail, a short prompt preview, the contributor name, and when the entry was shared.
Cards may also show badges such as:
- Yours — the entry was submitted by you
- A media count — the entry has multiple attached files
- Video — the first media item is a video
- A model name — the contributor tagged the prompt with an image or video model
Video thumbnails can preview on hover. Image and video thumbnails may subtly zoom while hovering, making the active card easier to identify.
More entries load automatically as you scroll. When you reach the end, the page shows an end-of-gallery message with the total number of shared prompts.
A shared prompt count is also shown in the toolbar on wider screens.
Searching prompts
Use the search field near the top of the page to find entries by prompt text or model label.
To search:
- Open Prompt Lexicon.
- Click the Search prompts, models... field.
- Type a keyword, phrase, style, subject, or model name.
- Wait briefly for the gallery to refresh.
The search updates after a short pause while you type, so you do not need to press Enter.
If no entries match your search, the page shows a “No entries match your search” message. Clear the search field to return to the full gallery.
Viewing an entry
Click any gallery card to open the full entry detail view.
The detail view shows:
- A larger view of the attached media
- Image and video model badges, if provided
- Contributor name and approximate submission time
- The full prompt
- Optional notes
- Copy buttons for the prompt and notes
- Edit and delete controls for your own entries
If an entry contains multiple media files, they appear together in a grid. Click any media item to open it in the lightbox.
To close the detail view, click the close button or click outside the entry panel.
Using the media lightbox
The lightbox lets you inspect attached images and videos at a larger size.
To use it:
- Open an entry.
- Click an image or video.
- If the entry has multiple media files, use the on-screen arrows or dot indicators to move between them.
- You can also use the left and right arrow keys to move between items.
- Press Escape, click the close button, or click outside the media to close the lightbox.
For videos, playback controls are available in the lightbox, and videos begin playing when opened. In the gallery and entry preview, videos may preview silently when hovered.
Copying prompts and notes
Prompt Lexicon is built for reuse and study. You can copy prompt text from both the gallery and detail view.
Copy from a gallery card
- Find the card you want.
- Click the copy icon on the card.
- A checkmark confirms the prompt was copied.
The copy icon is in the card’s lower information area. Clicking it copies the prompt without opening the entry.
Copy from the detail view
- Click an entry to open it.
- Click the copy icon beside the Prompt section.
- If the entry has Notes, you can copy those separately using the notes copy button.
Copied text is placed on your clipboard so you can paste it into your preferred generation workflow.
Sharing a prompt
Use Share a Prompt to add a new entry to the community lexicon.
To submit an entry:
- Sign in to Sorceress.
- Open Prompt Lexicon.
- Click Share a Prompt.
- Enter the exact prompt in Prompt Used.
- Optionally select an Image Model and/or Video Model.
- Optionally add Notes with tips, settings, or commentary.
- Add at least one image or video result.
- Click Share with Community.
While your files are uploading, the submit button shows progress text such as Uploading media..., Uploading file 1 of 3..., or Saving entry.... After the entry is saved, the form closes and the gallery refreshes.
If you open the form by mistake, click Cancel in the toolbar to close it.
Media uploads
Every shared prompt must include at least one image or video. You can add media in either of these ways:
- Drag files onto the upload area
- Click the upload area and choose files from your device
Supported media types shown in the tool are:
- PNG
- JPG
- GIF
- WebP
- MP4
- WebM
You may attach multiple files to one prompt. After selecting files, small previews appear below the upload area. To remove a file before submitting, hover over its preview and click the remove button.
The upload area accepts images and videos. Files that are not recognized as image or video files are ignored when dropped onto the upload area.
Model options
Model labels are optional. Use them when you want other creators to understand where the result came from or search for examples from a specific tool.
Each model dropdown includes None / Not Applicable if the field does not apply.

You can tag an entry with an image model, a video model, both, or neither. For example, use only an image model for a still image prompt, only a video model for a motion prompt, or both if your workflow involved both image and video generation.
Notes field
The Notes field is optional, but it is useful for context that does not belong in the prompt itself.
Good uses for notes include:
- What worked well about the prompt
- Important settings or constraints
- Style or composition tips
- What you would change next time
- Whether the media shown is the best result from several attempts
Notes are visible to other signed-in users and can be copied separately from the prompt.
Editing your entries
You can edit your own Prompt Lexicon entries after posting.
To edit an entry:
- Open the entry from the gallery.
- Click the edit icon.
- Update the prompt, model labels, or notes.
- Click Save Changes.
The edit form includes the same model dropdown behavior as the submission form, including Other for custom model names.
The prompt cannot be saved if it is empty. While changes are being saved, the button shows Saving.... If the save fails, the tool shows an error alert and you can try again.
If you change your mind, click Cancel to leave edit mode without saving your edits. Cancel restores the prompt and notes fields to their previous values.
Media attachments are not edited from the entry detail view. If you need different media, delete the entry and submit a new one.
Deleting your entries
You can delete your own entries.
To delete an entry:
- Open the entry.
- Click the delete icon.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Deletion cannot be undone. Once removed, the entry disappears from the gallery.
Empty states
Prompt Lexicon displays different messages depending on what is available:
- If there are no shared prompts yet, the page invites you to be the first to share one.
- If your search has no matches, the page says no entries match your search.
- If you have reached the end of the gallery, the page shows the total number of prompts in the current view.
When the lexicon is empty and you are not searching, you can use Share Your First Prompt to open the submission form.
Tips for useful contributions
- Share the exact prompt you used, not a summary.
- Attach the result that best demonstrates the prompt.
- Use model labels when you know them; it makes search more useful.
- Put workflow advice in Notes rather than mixing it into the prompt.
- If you used multiple outputs to demonstrate one prompt, attach them together as one entry.
- Use Other for model names that are not listed.
- If the prompt was for a video workflow, include a representative video whenever possible.
- If you are sharing several variations, group only the results that came from the same prompt.
Troubleshooting
I only see a sign-in screen
Prompt Lexicon requires an account. Click Sign In, then return to the tool.
The Share button is disabled
Make sure you have entered a prompt and attached at least one image or video. Both are required.
My file does not appear after I drop it
Only image and video files are accepted. Try one of the supported formats shown in the upload area: PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, MP4, or WebM.
I selected the wrong file
Hover over the preview in the submission form and click the remove button. Then add the correct file before submitting.
Uploading failed
Try again with a stable connection. If you selected several large files, try submitting fewer files at once.
I cannot edit an entry
Only the person who submitted an entry can edit it. Open one of your own entries marked Yours to see the edit control.
I cannot change the images or videos on an existing entry
The detail view lets you edit the prompt, model labels, and notes only. To replace media, delete the entry and create a new one with the correct files.
I cannot find a prompt I just submitted
After submission, the gallery refreshes automatically. If you were searching, your new entry may not match the current search term. Clear the search field to view the full gallery.
The copied text did not paste where I expected
Click the copy icon again and watch for the checkmark confirmation. Then paste into the destination field. Some browsers may require permission for clipboard access.
