Bounded island navigation searches to prevent stalls
Unreachable island destinations now stop searching promptly instead of flooding the streamed world.
I traced a reproduced island stall to navigation: a sealed destination only seven tiles away could send the route search across far too much of the world.
I bounded the streamed route search by work, time and detour extent, and limited its nearby visibility graph. Accepted routes still use the exact terrain and obstacle checks.
“I bounded the streamed route search by work, time and detour extent, and limited its nearby visibility graph.”
The clip shows native walking and checkpointing in an isolated island. A separately recorded sealed-route regression runs during the take without placing fake obstacles in the landscape; movement and the renderer continue afterwards.
The source verification also exercised twelve move-stop-save cycles and a restart. Very large detours may need intermediate destinations. This fixes a reproduced navigation stall; it does not establish that every long-session freeze or the original reported incident is resolved.
