Added a firing range with distinct weapon effects
A dedicated range makes weapon trails and impacts easier to compare, and the chosen effects now distinguish battlefield weapons.
I added a Firing Range where I can switch between nine projectile effects and fire at infantry and armored targets. It gives me a clear place to compare a trail in flight with the impact it leaves.
I then assigned the selected effects to battlefield weapons: rifles use Phosphor Tracer, miniguns use Needle, and tanks use Sabot. Other weapons have their own treatments, including smoke trails and incendiary rounds. Plasma and laser remain range experiments for future technology.
“I want each weapon to be recognizable by what crosses the battlefield.”
The clip shows the native range officer firing Needle, Phosphor Tracer and Sabot rounds. The target, projectile path and impacts stay in view, with the game's own sound retained.
